Description:
Join us for a scenic and rewarding 2-day backpacking adventure along Colorado Trail Segment 11. This stretch offers a perfect mix of alpine terrain, forested sections, and stunning views as we travel from the Mount Massive area toward Clear Creek.
We’ll start near Leadville and hike south through rolling terrain with glimpses of high peaks and wide-open valleys. The route gradually descends toward Twin Lakes, with a beautiful overnight near the Interlaken area—one of the more unique and historic spots along the Colorado Trail.
This is a great trip for those looking to build endurance for longer treks while enjoying one of the more accessible and scenic segments of the trail.
Plan:
Day 1: 12.3 Miles to Interlaken Trailhead. Camp
Day 2: 9.3 Miles to end. Trailhead at Clear Creek Rd, County Rd-390
